Step out into the land of Sargans, also known as Heidiland

Starting in Vaduz the first stretch of the  Via Alpina hiking trail brings you to Sargans and Mels.

On the second stretch you walk from Mels to Weisstannen and on over the Foo pass to Elm.

The old Weisstannenstrasse leaves right behind the  old Stoffel textile mill.

at times we have visitor every single one with a bell.

Imagine the sweet sound.

a short walk behind the house offers this view over to Mount Falknis

Your bed and breakfast is right at the entrance to the Weisstannental.

Mels is part of the

Unesco World Heritage site Sardona.

After a pleasant hike you will reach Weisstannen or you simply catch a Bus.

The difference of 500 meters in altitude can be done by bicycle or by car, too.

Many beautiful hikes start in Weisstannen

This trail leads to the

Batöni suspension bridge.

On Alp Siez you can have a drink or a meal.

You can also spend the night there.

The next day you head off to the Foo pass on

the Via Alpina trail.

A stone’s throw away from Mels is Wangs.

The Pizolbahn carries you up to 2227 mt where you start the hike of the 5 Lakes

 In 15 minutes by car from Mels you reach Malans.

Volunteers run the Aelplibahn.

Don’t forget to make a reservation.

Only 32 guests can ride up to the Aelpli within one hour.

Hiking up to Mount Vilan is hugely revarding.

Look at the view from 2370 mt towards Chur!

Travelling from Bad Ragaz through the

Tamina Valley brings you to Vättis.

Further on you will turn into the Calfeisen valley.

The Lake Gigerwald is spectacular.

After a few tunnels you reach the

Walser settlement of St. Martin.

Here your hike takes you to the Sardona Alp  and onwards to the Sardona hut SAC

Further west from Mels lies the wild romantic, fjord like Walensee.

This small harbour is at Mols.
